Public deliverables

This deliverable introduces to the Reference Technology Platform (RTP) and the idea of the Human Factors (HF) RTP, which will be developed during the course of this project. Whereas the RTP is a set of pre-integrated tools and services that could be compiled and installed to satisfy the needs of a particular use case, an RTP instance is a subset of RTP components that have been integrated through a stage known as tailoring, i.e., it is a choice of tools and services out of the “library” provided by the RTP.

The objective of this document is the review of Human Factors Integration Concepts and Regulations substantiated for the four HoliDes domains. In this way, the acquired knowledge gained about the possible HF input relevant to the development and qualification of systems, should serve as a basis for the further working steps within WP1: definition of an initial Project Base Line and draft of the HF-RTP architecture and methodology.

This document was written to support Task 1.4 in its two aims which are:

i) To define the ADCOS methodology

ii) To define the RTP Architecture

This document describes the progress of the HoliDes consortium to develop a Human Factors Reference Technology Platform (HF-RTP), at its version 1.0. In software industry, version number 1.0 typically refers to the first official release of a new piece of software or tool. Thus, it seems to be appropriate to describe the overall approach which led to this important milestone of the project.

This document describes the progress of the HoliDes consortium to develop a Human Factors Reference Technology Platform (HF-RTP), at its version 1.5.

Before any details are explained it should be clarified: “What is the HoliDes HF-RTP?” According to the proposal the HF-RTP developed in HoliDes consists of a set of processes, techniques and software tools, which can be used for the development of Adaptive Cooperative Human-Machine Systems (AdCoS) according to domain specific regulations and standards.

This document describes the final achievements of the HoliDes consortium to
develop a Human Factors Reference Technology Platform (HF-RTP). The HF-RTP
consists of a set of processes, methods, techniques and software tools (from now
on MTTs), which can be used for the development of Adaptive Cooperative
Human-Machine Systems (AdCoS) according to domain specific regulations and
standards.
Regarding processes, HoliDes focuses on the integration of human factors into
the engineering processes of four application domains (Health, Aeronautics,

This document describes the first results on the analysis of requirements, which have been collected from the application work packages (WP6 Health,WP7 Aeronautics, WP 8 Control Rooms and WP9 Automotive) regarding their relevance for human factor modelling techniques and tools. It will describe, which techniques and tools will be used within WP2 for the HF RTP v.0.5, how the requirements have been analysed and which requirements are relevant for WP2. Furthermore, this deliverable will be input for several other WP2 tasks and Deliverables, e.g.

D2.2 Integration Plan for MTT into HF-RTP gives details on the integration of MTTs into the HF-RTP for WP2. Please refer to the common Integration Plan document for further details on the HF-RTP and possible integration techniques.

D2.2-D.5.2 Integration Plan Common part describes our plans for integration of the MTTs into a HF-RTP and the accompanying methodology, by describing the successive steps to be followed to guarantee a smooth and iterative integration in the three Project Cycles

D2.3 Catalogue for Psychological Model Assessment This deliverable consists of the elaboration of crucial HF aspects that need to be considered when constructing an AdCoS (Adaptive Cooperative System). The requirements from WP6-9 (D2.1) served as a basis. A list of exemplary requirements from D2.1 and addressed HF aspects has been compiled. Subsequently, these aspects were broken down to universal HF principles that are applicable cross-domain.

The development of an interactive system is a complex problem, which is continuously growing with the evolving technology, i.e. growing cooperation between actors in distributed locations, or future application of adaptive systems. Model-based approaches can be very helpful to manage this complexity, because models can be described on different levels of abstraction, focused on the relevant information in a structured way. One advantage of model-based approaches is, that these models can be analysed in multiple ways, e.g.

Objective of WP2 is to develop modelling languages that support the modelling of adaptive and cooperative Systems (AdCoS), as well as editors for the specification of these models.

The development of the modelling languages has been started:

HoliDes addresses the design and the development of Adaptive Cooperative Systems (AdCoS). These systems are adapting to the cognitive abilities of the human operator(s) and facilitate cooperation between humans and machines with the goal to enhance safety, to reduce the human error risk, and to better support human operators facing too complex or critical situations.

This document aims to describe and synthetize the mapping between requirements provided by the application work package (WP6-9) and existing partner’s tools available in the WP3.

This document describes the adaptation techniques and tools and how they could be adapted to the RTP if desired.

This document serves the purpose of finding a common understanding of adaptation as well as the formulation and definition of terms all project partners can agree on. At first, the framework for adaptation is outlined theoretically, on the basis of which the project partners from different industries elaborate their AdCos and modeling approaches. This document is a living document that will evolve during the project.

The objective of this public document “D 3.4a - Techniques and Tools for Adaptation Vs1.0 incl. Handbooks and Requirements Analysis Update” is to present the techniques and tools for adaptation, including context assessment, adaptation computation and communication/feedback.

The objective of this document “D 3.7b - Techniques and Tools for Adaptation Vs 2.0 incl. Handbooks and Requirements Analysis Update”, confidential, is to give a final update on the use of the Adaptation Framework proposed and improved along the project and the last status about the development of the techniques and tools concerning Adaptation, and their integration in the different AdCoS.

This document describes the objectives, the methodology and the results of the analysis of requirements which have been collected from application work packages (WP6 to WP9) regarding their relevance for model based analysis techniques and tools.

This document gives details on the integration of MTTs into the HF-RTP for WP4. Please refer to the common Integration Plan document for further details on the HF-RTP and possible integration techniques.

This document provides the definition of metrics for requirements that have been selected within the preceding requirement analysis (Deliverable D4.1).Using such metrics, requirements imposed on particular AdCoS can be verified and if the AdCoS satisfies all the requirements then the AdCoS is qualified for usage. In the second part, this document contains brief description of model-based and empirical techniques and tools that could be used for verification of these requirements.

This document describes Techniques and Tools for Model-based Analysis in WP4 and their integration into a tailored HF-RTP specifically dedicated to WP4 objectives.

This document describes Techniques and Tools for Model-based Analysis in WP4 and their integration into a tailored HF-RTP specifically dedicated to WP4 objectives.

The objective of WP 5 is to develop techniques and tools for the empirical analysis of Adaptive Cooperative Human-Machine Systems (AdCoS) against Human Factors and safety regulations. In WP 5.1 the collected requirements of WP 6-9 were analysed both by WP5-members who were also members of one of the WPs 6-9 with domain specific expertise and other WP5-members with more experience in Human Factors. The starting point of this analysis were the requirements of WP 6-9 which were fixed in Excel tables.

This deliverable consists of two parts. The “Integration Plan Common Part” is shared by the deliverables D2.2 to D5.2. It explains how to integrate methods, tools and techniques (MTTs) into the Human Factors Reference Technology Platform (HF-RTP). The present document details the MTTs which will be contributed by WP5 as components to the HF-RTP. Details concerning the HoliDes RTP, its methodology and the integration of components can also be found in D1.1 and the forthcoming D1.3.

This deliverable reports the progress of the HoliDes consortium to develop methods, techniques and tools (MTTs) for the Human Factors-Reference Technology Platform (HF-RTP), version 1.0. For work package 5 (WP5), it concludes project cycle I. During this cycle, as a first step we received the requirements from the application work packages WP6-9. After an analysis of these requirements (cf. D5.1), we selected those metrics and methods to be developed in WP5, which could best meet the AdCoS owners’ needs.

The objective of the document is to provide a general overview of the status of the activities conducted in WP5 since the last deliverable (February 2015).

The main objective of WP5 within HoliDes was to develop methods, techniques and tools (MTTs) for the empirical analysis of Adaptive Cooperative Human Machine Systems (AdCoS). This last deliverable thus presents the final state (version 2.0) of the developed MTTs and shows their integration into the AdCoS development process and the Human Factors Reference Technology Platform (HF-RTP). WP5 was designed to receive requirements from the application work packages 6-9 and from the HF-RTP definition in WP1.

The overall scenario we selected to derive the requirements from WP 6: Health, is defined from point of view of a patient, who needs to have medical examinations and treatment.

Within the Holides project a number of tools and services is available or will be developed. The integration of these tools leads to the Reference Technology Platform (RTP). In this context the tools and services are also referred to as RTP-components. The RTP-components become useful when they are tailored into an RTP instance. Tailoring here means the selection of tools and services that match the needs of a specific application use case.

This document describes the results of a first attempt to model the AdCoS using the HF-RTP and methodology with pre-existing tools and provides feedback to WP1-5. The resulting requirements and specifications will further be used in task 6.3 for developing models of the AdCoS, and task 6.4 for providing the implementations.

The objective of this document is to explain the tailoring of the HF-RTP for the AdCos in the healthcare domain. It follows deliverable D6.2 and describes the use and tailoring of MTTs in the AdCos context. For each AdCos the tailoring steps as defined in D1.4 are described in more detail.

Each chapter starts with a short AdCoS introduction, followed by a description how the MTT’s from the HF-RTP have been integrated. The benefits of the HoliDes approach for qualification and certification is described. Furthermore, an impression of the HMI is given. Finally, each chapter concludes with feedback and recommendations.

This document is the result of the analysis made by the WP7 group for the definition of methods in the assessment of target scenarios, use cases and requirements in the aeronautical domain. The document is an overview of data gathered in other documents.

The purpose of this document is to describe how the HF-RTP and methodology received from WP1 will be tailored to aeronautics domain.

In WP7 two adaptive cooperative systems are built. The first aims at supporting pilot in not quite rare situation when due to unpredictable unavailability of destination pilots need to quickly find an alternate destination considering number of complex factors. The second AdCoS considers difficulties pilots encounter when they aspire for license on new aircraft type. Typically the pilots need to undergo long and costly training regardless of their previous experience.

The main objective of this deliverable is to describe the current tailoring process in each of the two AdCoS composing the use case of the aeronautic domain.

This report describes the results of using the HF-RTP and methodology with new techniques and tools from WP2, WP4, and WP5 to model the AdCoS and to perform model-based analysis. Feedback will be described for WP1-5. The deliverable is furthermore supplemented with a common annex, providing a cross-domain introduction and conclusion to AdCoS modelling (Annex II).

In deliverable D7.2, which was the initial version of the tailoring process, we defined the RTP and described how the RTP can be applied in the development process of the aeronautics domain. Deliverable D7.4 was built upon the initial version by refining the tailoring steps and updating the whole process based on experiments and inputs from the preceding work packages (mainly the tailoring rules derived in WP1, D1.5). The current version of the tailoring process applied to the AdCoS is described in section 2 of this document.
